Today, I went out to interview one of the owners of the drum set pictured above. J.D. Smith (one of the builders) told me that last week, he went to a rock camp in Walla-Walla and met up with Mike Hammond (the other builder of the drum set). They welded the drum set mostly out of found items, including a rubbermaid trashcan, metal buckets, plastic buckets, and brooms. As of this week, the drum can be found at Pendleton Center for the Arts, where it is being used for the 2009 Pendleton Rock and Roll Camp IIII.Tuesday, August 11, 2009
